White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt launched a series of attacks against journalist Niall Stanage after he asked questions about the reckless actions of ICE agents in Minneapolis.
Stanage, from The Hill, asked Karoline Leavitt about the U.S. government’s claims that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had “done everything correctly” following the killing of Good on January 7.
The journalist pointed out the deaths of 32 people who have died while in ICE custody since the beginning of 2025, when Donald Trump assumed the presidency.
“About 170 U.S. citizens have been detained by ICE, Renee Good was shot in the head and killed by an ICE agent. How does that mean the agents are doing ‘everything correctly’?” he asked.

Instead of answering Stanage’s questions, Karoline Leavitt turned the question back on him, asking the journalist to explain why Renee was killed.
“Because an ICE agent acted recklessly and killed her without justification,” the reporter replied immediately. “Okay, so you’re a biased reporter with a left-wing opinion,” the press secretary shot back, saying he was not a reporter.
“And that is very clear from the premise of your question. And you and the people in the media who have that kind of bias, but pretend to be journalists, shouldn’t even be sitting in that chair,” she continued.
Niall Stanage tried to respond to the attacks, but was unable to speak as Karoline Leavitt repeatedly called him “biased.”
Social media users were outraged by the press secretary’s behavior. Many claimed she was hiding the true circumstances surrounding Renee Good’s death.
“This is the MAGA style: don’t answer, just hit back,” one user remarked.
Reporter: Renee Good was shot in the head and killed by an ICE Agent.
Leavitt: Why was she killed?
Reporter: Because an ICE agent acted recklessly and killed her unjustifiably
Leavitt: You’re a left-wing hack. You’re not a reporter. You’re posing as a journalist. You… pic.twitter.com/2PxpVMgqpp
